Chanshuo: The Pavilion of Phoenix is like a book that we have not yet read, and through the experience of the travelers, they write a “preface” (the same pronunciation as pavilion in Madarin) to their Phoenix book.

About The Pavilion of Phoenix

Located in Luggu Township, Nantou County, the Pavilion of Phoenix is located in the Phoenix Natural Education Park at the NTU Experimental Forest . Through the concept of “curating”, the team uses the entire park as an exhibition space and combines the local senery and natural culture to create an extraordinary accomodation for the travelers. Camellias, cherry blossoms, fireflies, in different seasons, you can enjoy different natural sceneries. The only thing that remains the same is the green ocean of mountains and valleys, which gently embraces every traveler who visits this place.

A glimpse of summer light since the old times

During the summer months of April and May, the fireflies with their own light flaps its wings and decorates the mountains at night. When you step out of the cabin, you will be surrounded by shinning starlight, make you not want to leave.

The orange-yellow sunset turns the sky into a gradation of orange and red colors.

Find a perfect place to watch the sunset on the campsite. Watch the sun from dazzling light slowly goes down to a beautiful sunset. Feel the noisy environment slowly calming down.

The Phoenix Eco House

During the Japanese-Occupied Period, the Phoenix Park was planned to be one of the parks where the cinchona tree, a special medicine for treating malaria, was planted and extracted. The park is located at an elevation of 750-950 meters, and the climate is comfortable, not hot in summer. Experience the change in temperature and scenery in dfferent season in a clean and comfortable room with a view of the green landscape outside the window.

The Green House Cabin

The eco-friendly and energy-saving green cabins are standing still in the forest, and each cabin is named after Nantou’s famous agricultural product “tea leaves.” Every early summer, the shinning fireflies surround the cabins. When you step outside, you step into the beauty of green galaxy.

Local Specialty Dinner

Serving time: 18:00~20:00 (Last admission at 18:30) (The dining service will be slightly adjusted according to the number of guests staying on the day)

The glass house hidden in the forest, “The mist restaurant”, offers a variety of buffet dishes that combine seasonal and local ingredients to preserve the original food as the main method of cooking. Although the dishes might seem to be homemade style, there are many surprises hidden inside, warming the travelers’ stomachs in the lush forest of the mountains.

Check-In Policy

The Phoenix Forest Park is located at an elevation of 750-950 meters,and the climate is comfortable, not hot in summer. To support green house’s energy saving and carbon reduction, only fans are provided, no air conditioning.
Check-in time: 16:00 pm, check-out time: before 11:00 am on the next day.
Our site is booked by reservation. There may not be any rooms available if you come at short notice. Please book early to aviod such situation.
To ensure comfort and quality of service, please check-in according to the number of people of your booking. If the total number of guests exceeds the number of guests, we have the right to charge an additional fee on site.
Each room can only has one child count in the total number of guests. The price for extra child is $900, including breakfast, dinner and entrance ticket to the Phoenix Natural Education Park. There will not be an extra bed, pillow, or toiletries.

Other Notification

To be environmental friendly and support green tourism, we don’t provide disposable toiletries, so please bring your own.
If the number of guests exceeds the number of reservations, The Pavilion of Phoenix will not be able to provide services.
In order to maintain the quality and safety of your stay, cooking, smoking, alcohol, drugs, gambling, and pets are strictly prohibited in the entire park.
There is no pet-friendly area, so no pets are allowed (except for guide dogs).
It is cooler in the morning and evening in the mountain, and there will be mosquitos. Please remember to bring warm clothes.
In accordance with Statute for the Development of Tourism law 70-2, our center is a non-profit accommodation for specific groups. The following seven categories of specific groups.
- Those who participants in activities related to education, ecology, environment, public welfare, health, and culture organized by the government, schools, and corporate bodies.
- Employees or alumni who hold a certificate from National Taiwan University (and affiliated institutions).
- Those who hold a certificate of educators.
- Students with proof of enrollment.
- Volunteers with volunteer service honor cards.
- The number of accompaied relatives and friends of the employees or alumni in category 2, educators in category 3, students in category 4, and volunteers in category 5, cannot exceed four.
- Provide accommodation as humanitarian aids and for emergency needs.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellation on the day of check-in, 100% no refund of your payment.
Cancellation before one day of your arrival date, only 20% of your payment will be refunded.
Cancellation before 2-3 days of your arrival date, only 30% of your payment will be refunded.
Cancellation before 4-6 days of your arrival date, only 40% of your payment will be refunded.
Cancellation before 7-9 days of your arrival date 50% of the payment will be deducted
Cancellation before 10 days of the arrival date (including the 10th days) 100% your payment will be refunded.
Re-reservation: notify at least 5 days before.
Please note: If there is a refund, there is a bank administration fee $30 will be charged, and the refund will be transferred your designated account.

Please note that for visitors who drive themselves, please use Google to search for “Chanshuo: The Pavilion of Phoenix” for navigation. Do not use the app that iPhone provides. Please follow the instructions below.

Travel to north: get off the freeway at the Douliu interchange and go to Zhushan via the Taiwan Route 3, change to Route 151 and go to Lugu → change to Route 56 → Chanshuo: The Pavilion of Phoenix
Travel to south: get off the freeway at the Zhushan interchange, go through Zhushan (not into the city), change to Route 151 to Luggu → change to Route 56 → Chanshuo: The Pavilion of Phoenix
